In 2004, inside a modest home in Baruipur, my mother Anita juggled relentless domestic duties, tight household budgets, and the heavy expectations of a conservative society. She had no MBA, no corporate backing, and zero starting capital.
When she spoke of creating her own line of fine minimalist jewelry, society whispered and judged. People tried every quiet cruelty to break her confidence, telling her to stay within kitchen walls. Yet, between managing daily household life, she held an unbeatable weapon: an instinctual Bengali eye for art, detail, and pure elegance. She turned a small corner of our living room into a curation studio, building her foundation piece by piece against all odds.
Without advertisements or big investors, word spread organically. Women bypassed sparkling high-street showrooms to sit with my mother because she offered what money couldn't buy: brutal honesty, maternal warmth, and pieces that gave ordinary women extraordinary self-worth. Long before e-commerce existed, she held a bold dream in her heart: to bring minimalist daily wear to every woman in India.
I am Bithin. I grew up watching her silent tears, her unyielding grit, and her fierce belief in her art. I made a solemn promise that her 20 years of dedication would not remain hidden. Today, I am starting to fulfill her dream—building Goynagati to carry my mother's vision from our Baruipur living room to every woman across the nation.
